Sør Østerdal

The Sør-Østerdal Sleksthistorielag is working on a Bygdebok volume for Sørskogbygda, but this is expected to take years because it is a volunteer project. Leiret, in the center, and the eastern areas including Nordskogbygda, Bergeberget, Stygberget, Brattberget, Kynberget, Ulvådalen, Julussdalen, Enberget, Flishøgda are not presently included in bygdeboker.

Åmot Young Men’s Rolls Late 1800s Digital Archives of The National Archives of Norway Young Mens Rolls began to be used in 1795. This database for the Østerdalske, Fronske and Vågeske Companies is transcribed from the late 1800s records. The Young Mens Rolls were to follow the boys until they were conscribed as soldiers, transferred to other companies, or were deleted as unusable or dead.

Trysil Migrants from Trysil 1814 – 1897 Digital Archives of The National Archives of Norway Until spring of 1860, it was a passport requirement when traveling within Norway. The letter of recommendation from the priest should inform of the migrant’s marital status and ethical behavior. This registration is build upon the lists of migrants to be found in the church books in the Regional State Archive of Hamar. 1822 total in the database.
Trysil Parish Records 1730-1927 Microfilm at LDS Libraries (10 films) Trysil parish with Ljørdal, Plassen, Østby, Søndre Osen and Tørberget chapels. Trysil was separated from Elverum clerical district in 1780, when it became its own clerical district. Osen was divided from Åmot clerical district in 1787 and was annexed to Trysil clerical district. Osen parish vas divided and called Nordre Osen and Søndre Osen in 1880; when Nordre Osen became annexed to Åmot clerical district. Records prior to 1780 can be found in Elverum clerical district.
